I had the pleasure of taking Stefan and Petrea from Cyrius to one of our favourite ongoing landscape maintenance sites, Uniting Oatlands. It’s always a privilege to show people the real impact of our work, but this stop felt particularly special.

From the moment we arrived, you could feel the atmosphere. Lawn freshly mowed, hedges trimmed with precision, and footpaths edged to perfection. There’s a calm, inviting energy to the place that speaks volumes about the people who use it and those who maintain it.

🌿 A Place That Lives Its Purpose

Uniting NSW.ACT is a values-led organisation that aligns beautifully with our own purpose at Muru Mittigar. Their work spans every stage of life, from aged care and disability services to early learning and vital community outreach. At the heart of everything they do is a fierce commitment to social justice and community inclusion, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This North Parramatta site is a living example of that commitment. With programs like Uniting Outside School Hours Care operating on-site, it’s a place that pulses with activity and purpose. Kids play, elders are supported, and community life flourishes, all within a setting that’s peaceful, safe and beautifully maintained.

Our landscape maintenance team has been working with Uniting for some time now, and as always, the team welcomed us with warmth and humility. They showed us around the site, pointing out the hedging, mowing, trimming and other work that keeps the grounds so immaculate.

But what really stood out in our conversations was the pride they take in what they do. This isn’t just another job, it’s a partnership grounded in cultural care and professional excellence. Their respect for the land and their connection to Country shines through in every detail, from the careful way plants are managed to the thoughtful balance between tidiness and natural growth.
